Tournament Proceeds Save Lives...Give Hope
While a tornado disintegrated their mobile home, Cameron and Mike shielded their sons, Joel and Kyle, from flying debris by placing a mattress on top of the boys. This family of four survived. When daylight came, and Mike saw the destruction, he broke down in tears of disbelief that anyone could have survived. Six days later, the family moved from temporary lodging into a new residence and began stocking it with food, clothes and household items.
The Red Cross has been so good to us, said Cameron. We appreciate everything theyve done. I hope no one ever has to go through what we did. Thank goodness the Red Cross was here to help us. I just dont know what we would have done or where we would have gone, Cameron continued.
In the past nine years, State Farm agents have raised over $350,000 to help people like Cameron and Mike. The State Farm/Red Cross Disaster Services Open raises much needed support for Red Cross Disaster Relief Services. Because of State Farm, Cameron and Mikes family received immediate helpwhen help could not wait.
