Single Family Fire Response
The American Red Cross responds to single family fires more often than any other disaster. These fires usually don't get much, if any, media attention - but it doesn't make them any less significant or destructive.
Whenever a fire occurs, big or small, your Red Cross is there.
Casework interviewers from the Red Cross meet with those effected by the fire to discuss and identify immediate needs resulting from the fire. Typically, basic human needs such as a place to stay, food to eat, necessary medications or health items, and clothes to wear are provided first. Then, the Red Cross will continue to work with the family as they plan their long range recovery.
Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers with the Greater Ozarks Chapter have received specialized training in various aspects of disaster response, including casework interviews, damage assessment, shelter and feeding, health services and crisis counseling. DAT members also have the full support of the chapter for additional personnel and resources if needed.
All American Red Cross assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from people like you.
