Family Grateful for Red Cross Help
As the December 17th tornado ripped their mobile home apart, Cameron and Mike sheltered sons Joel and Kyle from flying debris by placing a mattress on top of the boys and laying on top to hold it in place. After ensuring that his family was safe, Mike clawed through the rubble of other homes to pull neighbors to safety. When daylight came, and Mike saw the destruction for the first time, he broke down in tears of disbelief that anyone could have survived.
Six days later, the family moved into a new home and began stocking it with food, clothes, household items and Christmas gifts.
The Red Cross has been so good to us, said Cameron. We just appreciate everything that has been done for us. I hope no one ever has to go through what we did. Thank goodness the Red Cross has been here to help us. I just dont know what we would have done or where we would have gone, Cameron continued.
