Home Care-Skills For The Family Caregiver (9810)  << back


Free respite care is available. A qualified caregiver will care for loved one while you attend class. Some age requirements to qualify. Respite care must be arranged at least 2 weeks before scheduled class.

Prepare to face the daily challenges of providing quality care in your home and increase your care-giving comfort level. Learn to properly perform care-giving skills and decrease potential stress. Become linked to vital community resources and meet other caregivers in an open, friendly environment. During class sessions, instructors will demonstrate basic care skills on life-sized manikins and guide participants through practice sessions including:

  • Positioning and transferring someone from a bed to a chair
  • Giving a bed bath
  • Exercising a major muscle group
  • Measuring and monitoring vital signs
  • Choosing a healthy diet
  • Class size is limited to 10

Cost: FREE

Time: 8 hours      All Classes 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM with 30 minute lunch
