Since 2000, the American Red Cross and
KY3 have honored local heroes at the
Everyday Heroes breakfast and awards
ceremony.
A selection committee comprised of
community leaders is asked to select
heroes to be honored at the breakfast.
The event has grown and last year received more
than 100 nominations. Heroes have
ranged from a young boy who helped
his grandfather in a tractor accident to
a couple who has opened their home to
at-risk and disabled foster children.
The Everyday Heroes Event will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Ramada Oasis Convention Center at 2546 N. Glenstone in Springfield. The program will begin at 7:30 a.m. The deadline for nominations will be Jan. 15, 2010.
