Lifeguard Training (34700)  << back

This course provides lifeguard candidates with the skills, knowledge and professional development necessary to keep the patrons of aquatic facilities safe in and around the water. First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer skills are included in the course.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be 15 years old by the last day of class
  • Precourse Test held at the beginning of the class that includes:

Swimming 500 yards continuously, doing 100 yards each of crawl, breast and side strokes, and remaining 200 yards of participant�s choice.

Submerge to a minimum of 7 feet, retrieving a 10-pound object and returning with it to the surface.

Tread water for 2 minutes using legs only.

Cost: $170

Length: 12 class sessions, total of 33 hours

Time: 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (four meetings begin at 5:30 p.m.)
